In pedicab world, there are written rules like regulations, traffic laws, etc. But what are the "unwritten rules" that drivers are expected to know? How do you find out what those unwritten rules are? And how do you handle disputes?
That's my question of the week: What are the unwritten rules in your pedicab community?

that if you have a problem with someone... just tell everyone and it will get back to them and then you can deal with it... :)
or letting an full cab pass in a crowd and then move... yep... serious falling sarcasim... leave it up to me
following = falling
One unwritten rule that comes to mind is that senior drivers are there to help. A second is that the negative actions of a single driver can have an adverse impact upon their fellow drivers and the company as a whole.
Of course, as I write this I can't help think about FNG's that are oblivious to how their actions affect us all.
Bad habits are passed to drivers just like the good ones.
There is written in stone city rules that untrained drivers have no idea and can mess up the future of cabbin if they dont follow them.
Makes me wonder who is the "keeper" for all these?
BTW, does anyone know the whole thing about when we can be on the mall and on the streets?
rules are for people who care about rules. no one can tell me what 2 do i can charge however much i want and go where ever i want,when ever i want
can be on the mall after 6pm mon-fri
can't be on the streets 7am-9am (correct me on the time if I am wrong) and 4pm-6pm mon-fri
Thanks Bobby, Yes, you are right, the rules and standards are not something that was dreamed up to make things difficult to operate, they are set up by the city and police to maintain some control. Training of new drivers is very helpful in making these rules understood. When a new operator starts and does not operate and train their new drivers in the rules it endangers every operator and driver in that city. Believe it or not we operate at the pleasure of the city. Just look at what is happening in Hoboken and New York. Anonymous thinks only about himself and WILL make it more difficult for the other to stay in the good graces of the city and the police.
