Condolences to the Dzioba family

On behalf of the entire pedal cab industry, we'd like to offer our condolences to the Dzioba family and friends. This was a very sad and tragic accident. Our hearts go out to them and our prayers are with them in their grief.

Mr. Dzioba sounds like a wonderful man. I know he will be greatly missed, especially by his wife and children. We hope that Mrs. Dzioba has a quick recovery from her injuries and soon will be able to return to Connecticut to the love and support of her family and friends.

This was my friend that was killed in this accident. I've known him for 35 years. He was a very funny, warm, highly intelligent man with 4 children. His wife still lays in a hospital bed thousands of miles from home. We were all coming to Seattle to join our friends for a cruise to Alaska. Something we've been planning for 1 1/2 years. Vacations can be rescheduled but the loss of our dear friend is something we'll all carry with us for the rest of our lives.
Life is fragile. When we wake up each morning, we assume we know what the day has in store for us. This is an illusion because we never really do. Things can change in an instant. All we really have is now, this moment.

To everyone else... hug your kids a little tighter, tell those closest to you that you love them, and thank the people in your life for being there. Every death is a reminder that life is precious, not to be wasted on petty grievances.

Live each day as if it were your last.
