I was contacted by an individual by the name of Andy Smith (303. 249.7831) after I had posted on Craigs List in Sacramento that I was searching for a pedicab.
Andy Smith informed me that he had a current ad posted on CraigsList selling the pedicab he offered to sell to me. He told me that he would remove the ad and hold the pedicab for me if I sent him a deposit of $250.00. I sent a personal check to Andy Smith. 6 days after cashing the deposit to hold the cab, Andy Smith informed me that he had sold the cab and that the deposit I had sent him to hold the cab he would keep as payment.
Andy Smith informed me that he had established a time line only after he contacted me to tell me he sold the pedicab in question. The newly created time line I was informed of on 9/27/2010, lasted all of 6 days. He cashed the check I sent and 6 days later he sold the pedicab I was to purchase. In all the email and text messages sent he never once set a time line.

don't even sweat it. just tell him he has two business days to get you back your money, or else you're filing a claim in small claims court. you don't need a lawyer. just get the paperwork, file it, and wait for your court date. bluff called. done and done.
sounds like a scam to me...
I had sent him to hold the cab he would keep as payment.
Have a read about why leasing pedicabs is not like leasing apartments. Thanks. Please repost.
